JSS Partners. JSS partners/works with other providers of service to the homeless population. To name a few: The Upper Room; Continuum of Care (program under HUD direction) ; Christ Like Services; The Nomadic Shelter Program; Community Haven Inc.; and many churches and groups that donate clothing to JSS for distribution; Please keep in mind that we wish only for clothing that one would take on a camping trip, leaving the blankets behind.

Many ask what do you need? As a general rule we have boiled it down to “What you would take on a camping trip, leaving the blankets behind.” That includes boxer shorts underwear and women’s panties. Also needed is money to purchase hygienic supplies, that are one of the most requested items, and the tents and sleeping bags that are given to each homeless person who are in need of such, one time per 12 month period.

JSS closet is open during Monday night’s shelter; JSS vans go to The Upper Room on Tuesday and Thursday. Also many homeless can get clothing etc. at Green Valley CC after the Friday night Shelter. St. Patrick’s Catholic church in Placerville also has a clothing closet. We attempt to provide what is essential to our single homeless population. JSS, in partnership with others, distribute information on where to go, who to see, what to fill out, for special assistance and opportunities..

We continue to stress the need for you to convince your Supervisors to make available one of the empty county buildings for use as a Nomadic Shelter location on Tuesday nights.
